While growing up in Port St. Joe, owner and operator Paul Davidson, Jr. spent the summers and weekends in Washington County visiting his grandparents, Sanford & Susan Davidson while learning about rural farming.

     In 1990, he relocated his family to the old Davidson home place in Poplar Head, between Chipley and Vernon.

     From early on, Paul enjoyed growing watermelons and cantaloupes and that hobby soon extended to include growing a large variety of seasonal vegetables, hay and corn.

     In 2006, he quit his industrial job of 22 years and decided to make farming and produce his full time occupation with the help of his wife and three children.

     Paul built a pole barn near his home and began selling produce, both to stores and individuals.

     In 2008, a corner lot in Chipley became available and he and his friend David Williams decided to make Paul’s dream of a country style produce market a reality.

     Hence, the beginnings of what is today the Main Street Market.
