The Vernon Historical preservation effort began in September 1998 with the purpose of collecting, preserving and publicly displaying artifacts, photographs and documents representative of the people, places, events and lifestyles of Vernon, Florida and the surrounding communities.

The group started with eighteen like-minded citizens in an effort to educate, and membership currently includes representatives from across the state.

The Vernon Historical Society Museum is located in Vernon City Hall and is open to the public every Wednesday from 10AM-2PM.

Historical Society meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of each month at 2PM in the Museum and are open to the public.

If you would like to join us in our efforts to preserve our heritage and be a part of the Vernon Historical Society please contact us:
